Children and Teens Yoga

Monique has a background in hospital play therapy and has been working with children and young adults for over 10 years. She trained in children’s yoga with Jo Manuel at the Special Yoga Centre in 2005.Monique has up to date CRB and insurance.

Monique offers age appropriate sessions for children aged 2 1/2 to 16 years old. Classes incorporate yoga games, partner work, songs, relaxation stories, breathing exercises and lots of FUN!!

Through yoga, children can explore their creativity and imagination in a non-competitive way to promote inner strength, confidence and self-esteem. Breathing and visualization techniques teach children how to focus, relax and develop self-control.

Yoga for teens

Adolescence can be a very confusing and emotional time. Yoga is a wonderful antidote to boost self-esteem, self acceptance and balance hormones.

Classes include partner work to encourage, team work, meditation to calm the mind and relaxation to allow body and mind to let go.

"Yoga is great because it's such a good way to wind down after a long day at school, and it lets you think more clearly afterwards and de-stress"

Joanna, Aged 14.

Schools Advisor, Nottingham PCT

"Pupils at Lady Bay Primary School enjoyed the opportunity to have yoga sessions as part of their "Healthy Lifestyles Day". The sessions contributed to the school's provision of a variety of activities appealing to different tastes, ages and abilities, one of the criteria for gaining Healthy School Status"
