From Panic to Peace: How I Overcame Midlife Anxiety and Found Strength in Breathwork
When I tell women my yoga classes are for midlife, at first there might be a blank expression staring back at me or even glazing over like oof, menopause – I’m not ready to think about that…
But when I start talking about how my knowledge focuses on yoga, strength, and breathwork to calm anxiety and encourage better sleep faces light up with recognition.
My story is that I thought I was bumbling through menopause- weight gain check, not slept through the night in years, also check.
Meanwhile, driving was less and less fun. Days ahead of a journey, I’d find myself planning routes, where I might park, even driving a new route the day ahead so I wouldn’t panic on the day.

It might feel like the joy has been sucked out of life.
You don’t feel comfortable in your body.
Feeling we’re someone we don’t know anymore
The positive side of all this upheaval is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. For me, breathwork has been a vital missing link.
Calming the angst and empowering, knowing I have effective tools to be used at any point in the day.
In sharing a little of my story, I’m hoping to reach out to you, offering assurance and comfort in knowing you’re not alone in trying to figure this out.
